Leather Warranties Guide

Important Information on Manufacturer Warranties

The manufacturers featured on our website are established and respected members of the furniture industry. The products we carry are only of the highest quality craftsmanship and design. We prefer our customers to be as informed as possible about the purchases they make with us, so below you'll find warranty information direct from each manufacturer. Kathy Ireland Home by Omnia Furniture Warranty:
Kathy Ireland Home 5 Year Limited Warranty:
  • The leather will not become hard
  • There will be no transfer of color
  • The leather will not tear under normal use
  • The finish will not peel from the leather
  • The finish will not show excessive cracks other than normal wrinkles from stretching


Frame Construction Warranty:
Kathy Ireland Home by Omnia Furniture offers a lifetime warranty to the original buyer against defects in material and workmanship for the life of the frame.

Cushion Construction Warranty:
The loss of resilience should not be confused with softening and flattening of polyester fiber and foam that will occur as: a result of normal use and aging. All foam will soften and will not be considered a defect. Kathy Ireland Home by Omnia Furniture warrants against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the original retail purchase.

Mattress Mechanisms Warranty:
Kathy Ireland Home by Omnia Furniture warrants against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the original retail purchase date. This also applies on our electric motor and it's parts.

Feather and Down Warranty:
Kathy Ireland Home by Omnia Furniture warranties the down and feathers against leakage for the life of the product under normal use.

Classic Leather Warranty:
View Classic Leather Classic Leather warrants to the original purchaser that our seating products will be free from defects in workmanship for a period of ten years. The specific areas covered include frame construction, spring units, and tailoring.

Additional areas covered under this warranty include:

  1. Cushion Construction - Cushioning components will be covered for a period of five years.
  2. Leather - Finished leathers will be covered for five years but will be evaluated to determine normal wear within a residential setting. Natural leathers, however, are not covered under this same warranty condition.
  3. Swivel Bases, Mechanisms, and Recliner Units – Classic Leather warrants the swivel bases, mechanisms, and recliner units for a period of five years.
  4. Casters - will be covered for a period of three years.


Conditions
All warranty claims and inspections must be coordinated and approved by the manufacturer prior to any repair work authorization. This warranty does not cover any evidence of damage incurred in transit, abuse of any kind, or conditions outside of normal residential use. Due to leather variance, we must reserve the right to repair or replace any part that is determined to be defective within the terms of the warranty period.

Classic Leather has established a strong tradition of manufacturing the finest leather upholstery furniture made in America. It is our commitment to these principles that guides us in our efforts to address all warranty concerns.
Coja "Lifetime" Limited Warranty:
View Coja Coja will repair or replace with equivalent materials (if identical goods are not available) any defective material used in the company's product where the defects result from:

  1. Frame Construction - Coja warrants the frame to the original purchaser to be free from manufacturing defects for the lifetime of the product (with alteration) under normal household use.
  2. Seat Springs - Coja warrants the seat springs to the original purchaser against breakage for a period of five years under normal household use.
  3. Seat Cushions - Coja warrants the cushion cores to the original purchaser, to be free from defects and loss of resiliency (not to be confused with softening) which will occur through normal use for two years from the date of purchase under normal household use.
  4. Upholstery Fabrics - Coja warrants the upholstery fabric to the original purchaser against seam slippage, shrinking, dye transfer and failure of fabric construction for one year from the date of purchase under normal household use. This warranty does not cover comfort wrinkles and fading which are considered normal. In addition, Coja does not warrant upholstery fabric or durability or the appropriateness of its selection. Claims due to cuts, burns, stains, improper cleaning and other chemical treatment applied after market are expressly excluded. Do not remove covers for cleaning. Because of differences in dye lot and the alteration of coloration over time, there is no guaranty as to the exact match of color shades on fabric repair.
  5. Leather - Coja warrants the leather to the original purchaser against peeling, cracking, tearing and splitting, and fading for one year from the date of purchase under normal household usage. This warranty does not include coverage for wrinkling, or natural markings from injuries to the hide, variation in grain, or color variations. These are proof that genuine cowhide leather has been used. Failure of the leather after receipt from Coja can not be warranted against abnormal or unusual wear if the item has been treated with any type of leather care product by either the dealer or end user.
  6. Motion Mechanisms/Sleeper Mechanisms/Innerspring Mattresses/Massage Systems - Coja warrants all motion and sleeper mechanisms, mattresses and massage systems against defective materials to the original purchaser for one year from the date of purchase under normal household use. Electrical massage unit parts are warranted for thirty days.


Conditions
This Warranty shall extend only to the original purchaser of the furniture at the original delivery address. This Warranty cannot be transferred. This Warranty shall extend only to furniture used in the purchaser's home. Corporation or contract purchase, or any use of the furniture for the general public is not covered by this Warranty. The Warranty card must be filed with the factory within thirty days from the date of purchase and authorized by the selling dealer.

Warranty Service Claims are to be made through an authorized Coja dealer. Coja's obligation under this Warranty is limited to repairing or replacing at Coja's option any part or parts of the product found to be defective in material or workmanship. Coja, in its sole discretion, will determine the cause and nature of any defect, the necessity and manner of repair or replacement, and all other matters pertaining to the condition of the furniture.

If it should become necessary to return the product to the factory for repairs, the cost of packing, brokerage and shipping to and from the factory are not covered by this Warranty. Evidence of original ownership such as sales invoice or other documents of purchase will be required.

Exclusions
This Warranty will not apply to any conditions or defects resulting from commercial usage, negligence, misuse, alterations, fire, accidents, improper cleaning, contact with sharp or rough objects, or contact with any foreign substance. Claims due to cuts, burns or pet damage are excluded. Concealed freight damage, such as scuff and rub marks, are excluded from this Warranty. This Warranty does not cover fading due to exposure to the sun.

Coja makes no other express warranties, any implied warranties, including warranties as to marketability or fitness for a particular purpose. Nor shall Coja have any responsibility for incidental or consequential damages resulting from the breach of this Warranty, including but not limited to inconvenience, rental or purchase of replacement products, loss of profits or commercial loss. Some states or provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. Therefore, the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state or province to province.
Distinction Leather Warranty:

  1. Leather- Distinction Leather warrants leather from peeling, crocking (color transfer), cracking (normal wrinkling is not included), or fading for five years from the date of purchase by the original consumer, under normal use and conditions. This warranty is void due to improper cleaning, negligence, or misuse. Natural markings, such as barbed wire marks, range marks, neck wrinkles, insect bites, backbone areas, flanks and slight color variations are part of the natural beauty of leather and should not be considered a defect
  2. Frame Construction - Distinction Leather warrants the solid hardwood frame to be free from manufacturing defects for five years from the date of purchase by the original consumer under normal use and conditions.
  3. Spring Construction – Distinction Leather warrants the eight-way, hand-tied spring system for five years from the date of purchase by the original consumer under normal use and conditions.
  4. Cushions - Distinction Leather warrants the cushions against loss of resiliency for two years. Softening and flattening will occur through normal use and is not considered a manufacturing defect.
  5. Recliners & Sleep Sofa Units - Distinction Leather warrants the metal mechanism of these products against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase by the original consumer, under normal use and conditions. After the first year, from date of purchase, the warranty covers replacement parts only and does not cover labor.
Franklin "Lifetime" Limited Warranty:
View Franklin The patented parts of the reclining mechanism in our chairs are warranted by Franklin to be free of defects in workmanship and materials for the lifetime of the merchandise. Lifetime means the normal, useful life of the chair as determined by the dealer/manufacturer.

  1. Chair Frames - warranted by Franklin to be free of defects in workmanship and materials for a period of five years from the date of purchase by the original consumer purchaser.
  2. All Other Chair Components – warranted by Franklin to be free of defects in workmanship and materials for one year from the date of sale to the original consumer purchaser and does not apply to rental business, commercial, institutional or other non-residential user. This warranty does not apply to fabrics or other covers, since these are not warranted by our suppliers, nor does it apply to any condition caused by damage after sale to the original purchaser or form improper use.
Franklin's Obligation
Franklin's obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing at Franklin's option, any part or parts (except fabric and other covers) of the chairs found to be defective in material or workmanship upon examination by the manufacturer. Costs for packing and shipping to and from the factory, if necessary, are not covered by this warranty.

UFAC Recommended
The manufacturer of this upholstered furniture certifies that with this cover fabric and filling material, the item is made in accordance with UFAC construction criteria that are engineered to reduce ignition by a burning cigarette.
